GV Tested in University Center
The Lakers of GVSU were tested a bit on Saturday during the game versus the Cardinals of Saginaw Valley State University. The score of 21-10 shows that GV had some trouble as they have averaged 44 points in the first 8 games of the season. After a tough first half with only 2 fieldgoals and a safety, GV went to the locker room with a score of 8 to 3. The defense held their own by the offense tried to figure out the SV defense. GV’s defense held the Cardinal offense to only 197 yards which is considerably lower than the 425+ yards they were averaging before this game. The second half proved to be more effective for our offense with scores by Brad Iciek in the 3rd and Antoine Trent in the 4th.
Next week: GV closes the season at home with Northern Michigan coming to town for a 1 pm start at Lubbers Stadium on Saturday.
